Session 1:
September 21, 2022
2:00 - 2:45 pm

Radiation Oncology session
Lung SBRT requires careful consideration for suitability. During this session, participants will be guided by our experienced Radiation Oncologist.

•    Rationale for SBRT Lung
•    Considerations for Care and Patient selection
•    Contouring and imaging requirements

Speaker
Dr Elizabeth Foley, Radiation Oncology, Alan Walker Cancer Centre

2:45 - 3:30 pm

Dosimetrist/Physics session
High-quality treatment planning for stereotactic lung requires a delicate balance between efficiency, reproducibility and steep dose gradients. During this session, participants will be guided by our experienced Dosimetrist in what is required to get plans.

•    Beam and sequencing requirements
•    IMRT constraints
•    Optimisation process and success realisation

Speaker
Elly Keating, Lead Radiation Therapist, Alan Walker Cancer Centre

3:30 - 4:15 pm

Physics QA session
Quality assurance is an important part of any radiotherapy practice.
In stereotactic treatments, this becomes even more important due to the tight margins and steep dose gradients. During this session, we will hear from our physicists how this can be achieved.

•    Physics requirements for SBRT
•    Practical considerations

Speaker
Angela Torrance, Senior Medical Physicist, Alan Walker Cancer Centre

4:15 - 5:00 pm

Treatment session
SBRT treatment requires careful consideration to accurately reproduce the patient's position from CT. During this session, participants will be guided:

•    On treatment stabilisation and setup
•    Imaging requirements and thresholds
•    Delivery and scheduling

Speaker
Elly Keating, Lead Radiation Therapist, Alan Walker Cancer Centre
